Book Reading - Mererid
"Can you make your lover moan?" Jim read the subject line of the email. He was sitting on the couch beside Blair, checking email on the laptop while his companion listened to audio book on CD's about some famous French explorer- in French.
Jim had to dial down whenever Blair listened to the stupid book-on-cd so he wouldn't hear the moronic voice droning on and on. The television was off, but the stereo was on low. The only light in the loft came from the light over the stove in the kitchen.
He eyed Blair cautiously. The younger man was half dressed, the flowery cotton shirt was unbuttoned, and the snap on the waistband of his jeans was loose. Bare feet propped up on the coffee table beside Jim's. Blair's head was resting back, a spiral notebook forgotten in his lap. Jim didn't know where the pen had gone; probably down on the floor somewhere waiting to ambush him.
Quietly, he logged off email. He shut down the laptop and set it aside. Blair stirred a little, but did not crack an eyelid. Jim shifted, tucking a long leg under him, and carefully removed the spiral notebook from Blair's lap.
He started by gently, lightly laving Blair's navel and pulling back slightly to blow on it. Blair's heart beat rate increased. He didn't see Blair's eyes pop open, but when Blair's hand moved to his ribs- and didn't push him away- Jim knew he had a very attentive audience.
"Man, if I'd known-." Blair pulled off the headset and reached to turn off the CD player. Jim stopped him.
"Nope. You want to listen to your book; listen." Jim smiled at him slowly, an evil glint in his blue eyes. "Turn it off and I stop."
"But, Jim." Blair moaned, knowing he was in for some delicious torture.
"Maybe I should go work on dinner?" Jim stared over Blair's curly head thoughtfully. He tapped his chin with an index finger. "Or maybe I should start some laundry?"
Blair put the headphones back on, glaring at his lover. "Get busy, buddy. I've got several chapters to go."
Jim bent to his work. By the time Blair and Megan arrived at the conference later that week, Blair had listened to at least six audio books. He couldn't remember any of them, but he had very fond memories of each one.
The end.
